Central Florida Medicare Help

Need Medicare guidance in Central Florida—Orlando, Kissimmee, Orange County, or Osceola County? Instant Health Help is a licensed ACA and Medicare agency that helps people compare options that actually fit their ZIP, doctors, and medications. Our help is free to you. We are not an insurance carrier. We do not invent plan names, quote fake prices, or tell every household there is one “best” Medicare plan.

Medicare has its own calendars. They are not the same as ACA marketplace open enrollment. Mixing them up is common—and avoidable with a calm walkthrough.

Who we help

  • People turning 65 (or newly eligible) who need an Initial Enrollment Period timeline
  • Beneficiaries reviewing Medicare Advantage or Part D during Annual Enrollment
  • Households still working past 65 with employer coverage questions
  • People moving into Orange or Osceola County who need a local network check
  • Caregivers helping a parent or spouse gather doctors and medication lists

If you still need marketplace (ACA) coverage instead of Medicare, start with a local ACA hub or get a marketplace quote. We will help you tell the two programs apart.

Key Medicare windows (plain English)

Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) is usually a seven-month window around the month you turn 65: three months before, your birthday month, and three months after. That is when many people first enroll in Part A and Part B, then decide how to fill gaps. Details and start dates can vary with work history and employer coverage—confirm on Medicare.gov or with a licensed agent.

Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) runs October 15 through December 7. Changes made during AEP usually take effect January 1. AEP is for people who already have Medicare and want to review Advantage and/or Part D options—not the same as first-time IEP.

Deep-dive guides:

What we do during a Medicare review

We help you prepare a short, useful list: ZIP and county, primary care and specialists, preferred hospitals in the Orlando–Kissimmee area, full medication list, pharmacy preferences, and what you roughly pay today. Then we walk through options available where you live—Medicare Advantage, or Original Medicare with a Supplement and Part D—without ranking invented “average savings.”

Neither Advantage nor a Supplement path is automatically better. Networks, travel, drug formularies, and how you prefer to pay (premium vs. point-of-care costs) drive the fit. Orange County and Osceola County menus are not identical; we treat your address as the starting point.

Special situations to mention early

  • Still working with group coverage past 65
  • Lost other coverage and may need a Special Enrollment Period
  • Dual eligibility or Extra Help with prescriptions
  • Snowbird travel or long stays outside Central Florida
  • A recent doctor or medication change that last year’s plan may not cover the same way

Official rules live on Medicare.gov. We help apply those rules to Central Florida doctors and pharmacies.

Central Florida Medicare FAQ

Is AEP the same as marketplace open enrollment?

No. Medicare AEP is typically Oct 15–Dec 7. ACA marketplace open enrollment in Florida typically runs Nov 1–Jan 15. Different programs, different rules.

Do I have to change plans every year?

No. AEP is a chance to review—not a requirement to switch. If your doctors, meds, and costs still fit, staying put can be a valid choice after a careful look.

What should I bring to a review?

ZIP, doctor list, medication list (name and dose), pharmacy preference, and a rough sense of premiums and copays you notice today. That is enough to start.

Is Instant Health Help free?

Yesconsumer guidance is free. We are a licensed agency, not a carrier, and we will not invent plan rankings or guaranteed savings.
