Need ACA (Marketplace) health insurance or Medicare help in Jacksonville? Instant Health Help is a licensed health insurance agency based in Orlando and Kissimmee, and we help Jacksonville residents by phone and online. We do not have a Jacksonville office. Help is free to you. We are not an insurance carrier, and we do not invent plan names, quote fake prices, or call any option the “best.”
Jacksonville and Duval County have shared one consolidated government since October 1, 1968, so most Jacksonville addresses are in Duval County. Four Duval communities kept their own municipal governments: Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, and Baldwin. Some addresses people call “Jacksonville area” are actually in neighboring Clay, Nassau, or St. Johns County. Plan options follow your ZIP code and county, so we confirm where you live before comparing anything.
Who we help in Jacksonville
We regularly work with:
- Military, veteran, and civilian households sorting out who is covered by what
- Self-employed residents and small-business owners shopping Marketplace coverage
- Families after a job loss, divorce, or move into Duval County
- Households checking whether they may qualify for premium tax credits
- People turning 65 who need Medicare timing mapped before Marketplace coverage ends
Jacksonville is home to Naval Air Station Jacksonville and Naval Station Mayport. HealthCare.gov counts TRICARE and VA health care as qualifying coverage, so people enrolled in them do not need a Marketplace plan. Family members without TRICARE, VA, or other qualifying coverage may still apply through the Marketplace. Medicare and VA questions? See Medicare and VA benefits in Florida.
When Jacksonville residents can enroll
Florida uses HealthCare.gov, the federal Health Insurance Marketplace. There is no separate state exchange website. For next year’s coverage, HealthCare.gov lists open enrollment as November 1 through January 15. Enroll by December 15 if you want coverage to start January 1. Dates can change, so confirm them on HealthCare.gov. Outside open enrollment, you generally need a qualifying life event for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP).
SEP triggers we often review with Jacksonville clients:
- Loss of job-based or other qualifying health coverage (the coverage end date usually drives the clock)
- Marriage, birth, or adoption
- A permanent move that changes the plans available to you
- Other qualifying events recognized by Marketplace rules

Medicare help in Jacksonville
Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 through December 7. Medicare Advantage and Part D options depend on where you live, so a Duval County address and a St. Johns County address may not see the same plans. We compare Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement (Medigap), and Part D plans we are appointed to offer, using your doctors, pharmacies, and prescriptions. Turning 65? Start with turning 65 Medicare enrollment in Florida and can I keep Marketplace coverage after 65.
We do not offer every plan available in your area. Contact Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE (TTY 1-877-486-2048) to get information on all of your options.
Dental and vision
Original Medicare does not cover most routine dental care. We can review dental and vision options alongside your health coverage. Background: does Medicare cover dental?

I live in Jacksonville Beach or just outside Duval County. Can you still help?
