Looking for the Medicaid Office in Kissimmee? Get Help Applying on MyACCESS
Most people in Kissimmee don’t need to visit an office to apply for Medicaid. Florida Medicaid and food assistance (SNAP) are run by the Department of Children and Families (DCF), and you can apply, upload documents and check your case online at MyACCESS. If you want a person to walk you through it, we help Osceola County residents for free, by phone or in person by appointment, in English or Spanish.
- The official place to apply is MyACCESS (myaccess.myflfamilies.com). Applying is free.
- DCF lists its in-person locations on its own office locator. Addresses and hours change, so check there before you drive.
- We help you fill out the application; DCF decides who qualifies.
Where the official DCF locations are
DCF offers in-person help at Family Resource Centers and through local community partner sites. Because locations and hours change, we don’t list addresses here. Use DCF’s official tools instead:
- DCF Family Resource Center locator (hours, services and appointments)
- DCF Community Partner search (search by ZIP code or county, e.g. Osceola)
- DCF Public Benefits customer call center: (850) 300-4323 (Florida Relay 711, TTY 1-800-955-8771), Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
What you can do online instead of going in
- Apply for Medicaid, SNAP (food assistance) and cash assistance in one application at myaccess.myflfamilies.com.
- Upload pay stubs, IDs and letters with your phone camera.
- Check your case status, read your notices and see what DCF still needs.
- Renew your benefits and report changes, like a new job or a new address.
Documents to have ready
- A photo ID and Social Security numbers for the people applying (if they have them).
- Proof of income for everyone in the home: recent pay stubs, a letter from your employer, or self-employment records.
- Proof of where you live in Osceola County, such as a lease or utility bill.
- Immigration documents, if you are not a U.S. citizen.
- For SNAP: rent or mortgage, utility bills, child care and medical costs (for people 60+ or with disabilities).
How we help, for free

- We explain your letters in plain English or Spanish and remind you of interview dates and deadlines.
- If Medicaid says no, we check whether a Marketplace plan with tax credits fits instead.

How long it takes
Federal rules give DCF up to 45 days for most Medicaid decisions (90 days if a disability decision is needed) and up to 30 days for SNAP, or about 7 days for households that qualify for expedited SNAP. SNAP usually includes a phone interview. Answer DCF’s calls and letters quickly; missing an interview or a document deadline is the most common reason for delays.
If Medicaid says no: other coverage
Many working adults in Florida don’t qualify for Medicaid but do qualify for help on the Marketplace. If you were denied, read lost Medicaid? Marketplace options and Florida’s Medicaid coverage gap, or see health insurance help in Kissimmee. Have Medicare? Ask about Medicare Savings Programs, which also go through DCF.

How long does a Medicaid application take in Florida?
Federal rules give states up to 45 days to decide most Medicaid applications, and up to 90 days when disability has to be decided.
