Medicaid and Food Stamp Office in Orlando? Get Help With Your MyACCESS Application

Instant Health Help is not DCF and not a government office. We are a licensed insurance agency that helps Orlando families with MyACCESS, free.

You usually don’t need to visit an office to apply for Medicaid or food stamps in Orlando. Both programs are run by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF), and one MyACCESS application covers them. You can apply, upload documents and check your case online. If you’d like help, we assist Orange County residents for free by phone, WhatsApp or appointment.

Key takeaways
  • One MyACCESS application can cover Medicaid, SNAP and cash assistance.
  • SNAP usually needs a phone interview. Missing it is the most common reason for a denial.
  • For DCF’s in-person locations and hours, use DCF’s official locator.

Food stamps (SNAP) and Medicaid: one application, two programs

SNAP helps pay for groceries; Medicaid is health coverage. You apply for both on the same MyACCESS application, but DCF decides each one separately. A family can get SNAP and not Medicaid, or the reverse. In Florida, many adults without children don’t qualify for Medicaid because the state did not expand it, while their children may. If an adult is turned down, a Marketplace plan with tax credits may fit: see health insurance help in Orlando.

The SNAP interview

After you apply for SNAP, DCF usually schedules a phone interview and tells you the date in a letter or in MyACCESS. Keep your phone on and answer calls from unknown numbers around that time. If you miss it, call DCF at (850) 300-4323 right away to reschedule. Households with very little income or money may qualify for expedited SNAP, decided in about 7 days.

Reading DCF letters

  • Request for information or verification: lists the documents DCF still needs and the due date. This is the letter not to miss.
  • Notice of case action: tells you what DCF decided, the benefit amount and how to ask for a fair hearing if you disagree.
  • Renewal (recertification) notice: Medicaid and SNAP both need renewing. Keep your mailing address current so you get it.

We read letters with you in plain English or Spanish. Login trouble? See MyACCESS login and application help.

How we help, for free

We help you choose the right programs, fill out the application while you stay signed in to your own account (we never ask for your MyACCESS password), upload documents, keep track of interview dates and renewals, and read DCF letters. We are MyACCESS certified, but we are not DCF, and DCF decides eligibility. Have Medicare too? Ask about Medicare Savings Programs and read what dual eligible means.

Medicaid and food stamp office in Orlando: FAQ

Where is the food stamp office in Orlando?

Food stamps (SNAP) and Medicaid in Orlando are handled by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). DCF lists its in-person Family Resource Centers and community partner sites on its official locator, with current hours. Most people apply online at MyACCESS without visiting.

Can I apply for Medicaid and food stamps at the same time?

Yes. One MyACCESS application can cover Medicaid, SNAP and cash assistance. Each program has its own rules, so you can qualify for one and not another.

What happens if I miss my SNAP interview?

DCF usually sends a notice about a missed interview. Call the DCF customer call center at (850) 300-4323 right away to reschedule; if you don’t, your SNAP application can be denied. We can help you keep track of the date.

Do you charge for help with my application?

No. Our help with MyACCESS applications, renewals and letters is free.

Is Instant Health Help part of DCF?

No. We are a licensed insurance agency, not DCF and not a government office. We help you complete your application; DCF decides who qualifies.
